To date I have no intentions to up-date or change anything on my Epi-LP Standard.
Everything looks and works fine.
BUT,...hehehe
When it goes out of warranty I might do the following:
Install new bone nut Dress frets Install "Gibson" pots, and toggle switch Install new pups, (type as of yet un-decided)
As my dad once told me,..."If it ain't broken,...don't fix it"
But time will tell,....ask me again in February of 2005
LOL

Ol Geezer,...
Yes,...Epiphone's come with a "lifetime" warranty,...
But,...if ya read the "fine" print, you will notice that Epiphone electronic and electric components have a ONE year warranty.
NO warranty on finishes,......
Their "lifetime" warranty includes the body, neck, headstock. There are limitations that include but are not limited to, abuse, neglect, un-authorized repairs and modifications.
I will locate the Epiphone warranty, and if ya'll wish, I will post it here or on the other Epi-Friend site.
Please don't take my post as absolute fact, but this is how I understand Epiphone's warranty.
After all,...I'm juz an ol' 'onery Tennessee red-neck,........LMAO

I didn't mean to stir up trouble, I was just wondering if they'd changed their Warranty recently.
I'm reminded of a story, when a guy takes his broken stereo in for repair and is told they can't fix it. He complains, saying it was sold to him with a "Lifetime Warranty," but is told, "Well, it's dead...."

Ol Geezer,........*S*
No trouble at all, matter of fact, its a good thing that this was brought up, for everyone needs to understand Epiphone's warranty, and limitations.
Information = knowledge

Hi all
Pardon my ignorance, but can anyone explain what is a fret dress? Does it mean changing the frets, or just polishing them?
Thanks.
Joe

Hi all Pardon my ignorance, but can anyone explain what is a fret dress? Does it mean changing the frets, or just polishing them? Thanks. Joe Hi Joe : For me the fret dress included leveling all the frets and polishing them. Wow what a diff. No buzzing at all and the frets are as smooth as glass now. ;D. I did have a problem like yours whith a buzz at a few frets and this fixed it....

Well the only thing I've done.... yet...
Can be seen in the gallery. Its the Custom FAT-210
I made a baltic birch plywood pickguard for it, the picture doesnt show the awesome grain tho...
Just yesterday I put on a set of Gibson Brite wires (still had the epi stock ones on)
I'm looking to get some new knobs to go with my pickguard but all the guitar stores near me sell em for like $20 a set!

I have a 2002 LP Standard Plus that sounded very good with the stock pickups, in my opinion. I also have a 1996 G-400 with stock pickups that I thought sounded okay. Anyway, I changed the p/u's in my LP to Dimarzio Super Distortion and PAF (Had to make it my "Ace" guitar), it made it sound AWESOME!!!! I then decided to change the stock p/u's in my G-400 to the ones I took out of the LP and it now sounded AWESOME too!!!! I guess they are making the stock pickups better now than when my '96 G-400 was made.
