Well I have one old case for Les Pauls which I use from time to time, but generally I have gigbags for my guitars because my guitars always travel on the backseat of my car and I always take care for them myself, even when playing gigs. No one will touch my guitars, I carry and transport them myself. Cases are too heavy to handle.

I have 1 Gibson hard shell case for my S-1, you know the big hard poly-plastic tank that kind of looks like an acoustic case. You would probably be ok dragging this thing behind your car to a gig. And an Epi gig bag for my Epi LP Special II The Epi gig bags are not very padded and I wouldn't feel good about chunking it in the trunk, but I am like Steel on this one. Only I handle my guitars.
EDIT 8/25/04
My quilt top came w/ an Epi hard shell case and I love it.

WickedWishes All my Epiphones (electric and acoustic) live in Epi cases, except the LP Standard with Vibrotone arm -- only a Gibson LP case would fit it properly (and be able to close).

I go with the Epi hardshell case on my LP as well, it fits nicely and I got it for $50 (which is less than musiciansfriend price)

I found this old photo of it with my LP Studio, but the Standard is kept in it now.... Do you keep your guitars in cases at home? Mine are all in guitar stands because I want them to be at hand when I desire them, hehe! I mean I won´t have to open cases and pull out the guitar, I can grab them right from the stand.
