Well here´s my newest purchase on Ebay, lol! I can´t wait to hold it in my hands! Bid on it this morning as the mood took me. It´s a Career Stratocaster with standard Fender-Style vibrato, 24 (wooohoo) frets and 3 single coils. Bolt-on neck, No pickguard, pickups screwed directly into the body cavities and electronics access from the back side. It was dirt cheap, and the seller who had a very good reputation told that this guitar got lots of "attention" on recent live gigs. Sadly enough the U.S.A. is not very beloved here in Germany especially by younger people because of the Iraq war. But what the heck, I guess that´s why the guy sold it. Personally I LOVE the U.S.A. (can´t wait to visit my pal in San Diego), I don´t forget what they did for us germans after the World War II and on the other hand the United States are the homeland of rock'n'roll! Even to me as a german the star spangled banner is a synonym for the "spirit of the free, a symbol for being unconquerable, come whatever may " So if anyone here in Germany doesn´t like my new guitar they can kiss my ...! Wooohoo! I´d like to have Les Paul in this finish, too!

Wow Steele, that`s freakin` awesome. I can palinly see why you had to have it. 24 frets is a nice touch. My ears are hurting just thinking about it! Are the pickups Fender? I can almost see putting a clear pickguard on it to protect that beautiful finish. I guess we should expect a full review on your new axe. ;DThanks also for the kind words concerning the US of A. It seems as though many of the people the US had assisted in one way or another have very short memories. Jim P.S.- My best friend`s name is Heino. His family came to America when he was 6 years old.He came "over the Wall" in his father`s suitcase, and his sister was in her Mom`s. His Dad has spoken many times of the good the Americans have done for the people of Germany.

Sweet looking axe there Steel ole buddy. I hope she plays as well as she looks.
Thanks for the kind words of support about the U.S.. It seem like almost every other place on earth hates us, and for some of them I can see why if I were in their place. Our government has made mistakes and bad deals. But I would not want to live anywhere but here. ( I would like to visit Amsterdam though) ;D
p.s. I think Epi put out a stars and strypes finish on a Paul or a Special I saw in the past. You may want to ask Smooth what he knows about it.

Very sharp looking guitar.
There are several companies that have done stars and stripes guitars like that.

Seems i remember some limited run of Epi's with a flag design, but we do so many special runs i can't honestly recall. I do know Kramer (Gibson owned) did some recently. secure.musicyo.com/site_images/peek/SPoldglory.jpgI dig that one you have Steel!

Jay Turser did one within the past year or two also. Then there is always the acoustic made famous by Buck Owens.

Hey Steel...nice looking guitar! Hope it plays and sounds as good as it looks. Thanks for the pro-USA thoughts. This is a great country to live in and I am proud to be an American...for the most part!

Hey Steelpriest, nice guitar and echoing the thoughts of the others, Thanks for the pro-USA stance. I don't want to stand on my soapbox BUT, I wish some of these USA haters could have experienced the shock and personal loss that us New Yorkers did on 9/11. I personally lost quite a few friends, Cops, Firemen, and civillians. I think the most life changing experience I have or ever will have was standing on the remains of tower 2 of the Trade center the day after it fell. Digging through the remains of concrete and steel with a shovel and my bare hands was quite an experience. I responded to the WTC as a fireman from Long Island and stayed there a couple of days to search. The sight of the devastion and the eery lighting effects from the spotlights and the sound of military jets overhead will be with me to my grave. I'll get off my soapbox now but to anybody who hates us........... well, you know what I would have said next. Take care!!!

Well, what happenend in New York on 9/11 can actually happen everywhere. I hope it does not, not again, but if it happened here in Germany or Europe lots of people might overthink their position of arrogance. Personally I felt ashamed as our government did not support the U.S. government in their fight against international islam terrorism. But what the heck, this is a guitar forum... the only thing we all (I mean the world, everyone of us) should have learned on that sad september day is: There is no safe place on earth. War is always around, often in far away places, but it is very able to knock on our doors...

Hi Steel
I agree with everyone else, that is a cool looking axe.
HEY all you colonials over the pond !!!! NOT EVERYONE HATES YOU, I am in another land of the free (admittedly up until a 100 years or so ago we had enslaved half the world but we've given most of it back !!!)
You guys keep blowing the trumpet for the USA, I do the same for the UK, born here, grew up here, raised my kids here and very proud to be a Brit, travelled all over the globe and would not want to live anywhere else.

Well, I take pride in being german, too, Chris, but on the other hand it wouldn´t bother me to live in any other "civilized" place on earth, may it be the U.S. or Great Britain or the Netherlands, or elsewhere... Lol, the germans enslaved almost complete Europe in the last World War, fortunately you Englishman and Americans forced us to "give it back" and made an end to the Nazi regime... I highly doubt that otherwise Europe would be such a peaceful place like it is now. Fortunately we have overcome nationalism and hostility. Personally I feel more as a citizen of the free world than as a german. The world has become a village meanwhile. That´s the benefit of the internet. Communication, information and the right of free speech are a blessing. Oh well, I´m drifting away... lol. Anyway, there is an Epiphone guitar with a Union Jack, I guess it is the signature model for some british pop group, lol... but by far better than this disgusting ESP model that displayed nazi runes...

Hi Steel
Guess this post will need to be moved soon if thread keeps developing this way !! Yeah I agree about the morons, only 2 weeks ago there was a big gig at the town hall in Dover, many local bands and some from London, one of these going by the name of "Right On" had black shirts, skin head haircuts and Nazi emblem on the drums and guitars, all their songs were hate filled.
Guess they wanted to play in Dover because ther are many asylum seekers here now from Romania, Bulgaria, Slovakia, Ethiopia, Iran, Afghanistan etc and local thugs are always trying to start trouble.
The good news is that they only managed to play 2 "numbers" before they were LITERALLY kicked off the stage.
My friend, these people are small minded moronic scum, no place for them on this earth.
That's enough of that, let's get back to talking guitars !!
Best regards Chris
