Hi all,
I've only been playing guitar for a few months but... I can't settle on a song to learn, I'm always learning bits of pieces of my favorite guitar solos and riffs and songs... But I can't actually play a full song (Well I can play seven nations army..)
Thanks
PS: I'm talking easy, not A horse with no name easy.
PPS: I have a capo if that helps anything...

Uriah, I'm not sure what kind of music your into and don't know what you know so far. The first song I ever fully learned was Living After Midnight by Judas Priest.
Very simple chord progression. High E/5 to D/5 using the A form barre chord then A/5 to B/5 using E form barre chord. Very simple but quite fun to play. Then is moves to Low E major open position. Using a plam mute to G major.
I used to use this song as a teaching aid for my students. It works well on switching between to two most used barre chord forms and moving up and down the neck.

LOL How funny, this was also one of my first complete songs I could play alongside with Breaking the Law and Paranoid... hehe, the basic stuff for every guitar newbie who likes hard rock music

The best songs are almost always based on the "keep it simple stupid" theory. Many a Priest tune and Black Sabbath were my stepping stones.

Lots of The White Stripes' songs are really simple, like Hardest Button to Button, Little Acorns, Seven Nation Army, I Think I Smell A Rat Put on some distortion and kick ass

ANYTHING by blink 182 is easy Also I find "alrite now" by free to be a really easy song to play. The solo may be a little difficult for a newbie but Im sure you can get the hang of it with a bit of practice

Well, today I'll look through powertabs archive for some of those songs.
Here's a list of the songs I can play a bit/alot of:
Seven Nations Army: whole thing, no slide Lucy in the sky with diamonds: No chords just the opening Don't Fear the reaper: main riff Thunderstruck: the little chorus that goes through the whole song Smoke on the water: first 3 pages Crazy Train: beginning riff Concerning hobbits: most of the beginning Simpsons theme: whole opening A song me and my friend made up: Havent finished it
Songs I want to learn:
IRON MAN Paranoid Back In Black Lucy in the sky with diamonds Another Brick In The wall: Im having trouble with the barre cords
I'll add on if I forgot something. ~Uriah

A really fun and easy song to learn is Smells Like Teen Spirit by Nirvana. Nothing hard to it at all, plus the solo is super easy

some beatles stuff is good to learn because its mainly pretty easy an no solos, thats the probly with ozzy, le zep and deep purple stuff, the solos are to hard for beginners but like i said The Beatles, actually the first entire song i learned how to play was "8 days a week"
