I am hereby proclaiming the Epiphone Vintage G400 as the "Best Guitar for less than $400". Anyone disagree?

Haven't really gotten a hold of it yet, but they have one down at my local Epi dealer that I might go try out and see what its like. Although...it's an Epi so you know it's gotta be some kinda good:).

...sorry guys...no way is any bolt-on-neck Fender product gonna be best of anything on this site.... ...back in the 50's they got it right the first time around...Tele...LP...Strat...ES-335...it should be one of these...they stand the test of time ...they're used for other music than they were originally designed for...in other words...they're classics.... ...as far that 60's SG design...I'll just refer ya'll to none other than Les Paul for his reaction to it.... ...I humbly nominate my Dot NA as the "Best Guitar for less than $400"...got it brand new for less than the Dot Studios currently offered by Epi.... ;D

I'll Third the Dot
They are more expensive over here (mine was GBP 324 inc Epi hard case) but what a lot of guitar for the dough !! she is my favourite by miles, I have various Fenders etc and Dot is the total business.

Chris - UK Chris, I remember when mine arrived and I played it for the first time I immediately thought that if I had to have only one guitar (perish the thought!) on a desert island it would be my choice.

Yo Ol Geezer.
I agree with you, strange isn't it, we obviously both got good ones, there is something about mine that I can't really put into words, I can play stuff on Dot that I just can't do on any of my other guitars, she just makes me feel so happy and frees me up somehow.
I've had a good go on a couple of Gibson 335's and I know it's weird, I just didn't get the same buzz and the Gibbo didn't feel "right"
Hail to the Dot !!

Well, my brand new cherry burst AlleyKat cost me $389US (including shipping). I think it is a nice guitar for under $400. I'll have to check out the vintage G400.
