There I was, happily going about my way, content in the knowledge that my guitars were safely tucked away and there should I need them again. Then came an EPI DOT which lead of course to a perceived need to upgrade from a little crappy $75.00 amp and whala, a new BJr comes home.
So I should be content. I don't play out, I don't even jam (yet) with anyone else. It's just me and my lonesome in the basement with an array of old Berkley lesson books, a Hal Leonard offering and an anonymous Jazz/Blues techniques book from back in the 70s.
So WHY AM I STILL LOOKING FOR MORE GEAR? It's a sickness the likes of which I've only witnessed with fellow fly-fishermen. It seems common for fly-fishing addicted types (like myself) to amass a multitude of gear of pretty much the same type but with slight differences. You can't fish with more than one at a time but that doesn't stop us from having (or wanting) two or three of each weight/length. You know, like bowlers who are 140 average capable and spend $300.00 on the latest bowling ball and shoes, wrist brackets and every other gadget and still bowl 140 yet the old guy with a 20 year old ball is easily maintaining a 200 average.
I've got two or three amps in my eBay watch list and now am contemplating a more powerful, SS amp like this;

Price seems right, I could always return it if I wanted but I really have no true need for it. So why do I have this compelling urge to buy it?
It's all your fault, collectively. Damn the internet!
