Our keyboarder who plays guitar occasionally most recently bought an affordable ampstack on german Ebay. A "Red Shadow Silvertube". The amp head is not so bad, but on the other hand far away from being decent. But the cabinet is a bummer! In the auction it read 4 x 12" cabinet, 400 Watts 4 Ohm, Celestion equipped, what was delivered was a 4 x 10" cabinet, as well with 400 watts, but the first chords we played through this cabinet were a real surprise. If this cabinet can handle 400 watts I will eat my hat! We opened the cabinet and took some photographs. First of all: the speakers are Celestions RED LABEL, who of you has ever heard about that? I doubt that these speakers are intended for guitar cabinets. A single speaker has 8 ohms, so how can that mono cabinet have a load of 4 ohms using 4 speakers? LOL... Then take a look at the very funny and also bewildering imprints on the connection panel and the rating plate. Oh, good god. Also take a look at the outstanding quality of manufacture that uses pressboard for a cabinet! A total bummer, IMO not exceeding more than 100 watts total load capacity, definitely 8 ohms (or even 2 ohms! YIKES!), soundwise the most mushy and dull cabinet I ever heard. This cabinet was bought new from a dealer, we contacted him already and said we are going to send the whole crapola back. Here are the pictures for your amusement and for those who are interested. Maybe good old CAFeathers or Zac Attack have heard about Celestion Red Label speakers? If so, what´s the deal about them?

The funny thing about these speakers is there is not wattage given, they simply say 8 ohms. Aren´t all the nowadays Celestion speakers for guitars named G-75, G-100, etc... ?
