Tube Amps

I have been around the circle trying to decide on a new tube amp to buy. Went from Marshall, to Traynor, to Fender. Ended up opting for the Fender Hot Rod Deluxe, I think- Anyone have experience with this amp. I am playing almost 100% blues, with a drummer, keyboard, Sax, Bass and sometimes extra guitarist. Small clubs Any comments will be appreciated- Irish Mike

I've played the Hot Rod Deluxe at the local store several times. I actually was considering buying it, but then decided for the 65 Twin Reverb.
It's a very nice amp, relly great. And you can get great blues sounds, either clean or with overdrive. And it's pretty loud.
A great amp, really. Certainly for the money.

If you haven't bought yet. I reccomend you look at the Crate vfx series....yes..I said Crate. I have a vfx5112, its 50 watts all tube. Has alot of nice features I love mine. It doesn't have a marshall gain type sound, but when cranked. It can get awful close and has a rich saturated tube sound. It doesn't have the fender clean sound, but is very clean and sounds VERY good for blues. Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top has been using a vfx 5212 on promotion tours the past year. But again he would sound good through just a little pignose.
It also comes with an assortment of effects you can blend in. Up to two at a time. Makes it nice to not have to use a peday if you really don't want to..or at least reduce the number you have.
Like I said love mine. I got mine for less tha $400 on ebay. The sell for just around $700 new.
