Yesterday a pal who gave up guitar playing recently donated me his old amp. A Peavey Bandit 112 80 watts combo amp. The preamp section is seemingly defective but the poweramp works properly. I thought about using it as an active powered cabinet and use it at home or for smaller live gigs. The preamp signal (from my rack) is routed to the amps FX return, so that I can use the built-in spring reverb. Connecting to the poweramp in would not allow me to use the reverb. I also connected my Digitech distortion pedal (instead of my Yamaha DG1000) to this input, thus using the distortion pedal as a preamp. The results are also very nice. Woohoo, a powerful amp for free, that was a nice surpirse. Maybe I will ask a technician to take look at the preamp section. If I am lucky it´s inexpensive to repair it.
