Still shopping for an amp- tried the Line 6 which was recommended. It just didn't have the tone I was looking for to play blues, although the price was great and quality appeared very good. it isn't out of the picture yet. Some others have recommended the marshall MG100DFX. Price a little higher, has some digital effects. Anyone with experience on this amp please respond- Thanks to all
Fender Blues Junior $398. JJ tube mod from Eurotubes $40. It NAILS the Blues tone. IMO, avoid the modelers that are just trying to copy the sound of tubes, get the real thing.
I also can't play at high volumes so I use a tubescreamer to drive the amp into distortion. I don't use the drive, just the level control.

Well, I have to disagree here. There are modellers that can even model blues tone. My Yamaha DG1000 is able to compete with each Marshall, and it´s no wishful thinking. It delivers very dynamic feeling exactly like tubes do. There is a difference in modelling, though... Stay away from cheap solutions like Behringers V-Amps, etc. They may have a nice high gain sound but they offer only lacklustre crunch and blues tone. Same goes for the Marshall DG, though non-modelling, series. Just my opinion.

"I am not the one who´s crazy..., I live in a world gone mad!"
Sorry, as I have no experience with that amp, but...
If you're considering the Line6 series, you might give the Flex-Tone ll a try. It has most of the models you'd expect--a couple of Marshalls, Soldono, Roland Jazz Chorus, Vox AC 30 and AC 15, Bassman, Twin Reverb, plus the Gibson Explorer ( which, by the way, sounds better than most any small "blues" amp i've ever heard, including the Fender Blues, and Pro junior {no offence, Dgassie }) and a model of the same amp Jimmy Page used on the first two Zeppelin albums( it actually had a 6x9 speaker just like your car stereo) The best of the bunch are the Explorer, the Page amp, and the Voxes, and it has twelve effects built in with a foot controler. I think modelers are a good choice for the variety, but also agree that there is really no substitute for the tube.
And, hey, if you happen to have 1600 bucks laying around waiting for something to spend it on, you can go for the Carr Murcury which uses one single ended KT66 tube Class A circuit, and has a built in attenuater. It goes from 8 to 2, 1/2 or even 1/10 of a watt ! ! You could max the power amp out, and not even wake up the people in the next room, much less the neighbors.

Once again I am agreeing with Steel on this one. And once again I am going to run my mouth about my Cyber Twin, which by the way, even after shipping and the the tubes to fix the problem it had when I bought it used, cost me 5 dollars more than your Blues Junior if you count the gas it took to go buy the tubes. ;D The factory preset I use the most is named "Blues Classic". It pulls off the tube sound as does every setting that is meant to. Also check out the new Fender DSP Dyna-Touch III series. I went to Guitar Center the other day and played the Princeton 650 and the Stage 1000. Both were very nice amps for the price. Both pulled off a nice warm tube sound at lower volumes, but didn't have the same feel when cranked up. I also looked at the Bullet 150 for my kid who will get a mini strat for Christmas. Not bad for 15 watts but I think I will save some cash and get him the Champion 300 30 watt if he shows interest. Anyway, as always, I say, GO Fender!
Just my opinion Zac

Hmmm... I'm getting the feeling you all don't care much for the Blues Junior! =)
Tell me more about this Cyber Twin, it sounds interesting. Are there any sound files out on the net that I can listen too?
Regards Dan
Nothing aginst your Junior, in fact that amp is one I was looking at before I found the deal of the century on eBay. The Cyber Twin has been one upped by the New Cyber Twin SE. Same amp, new stuff on it and a new look. Go to the Fender site and register to win one. I would also look there for sound samples or at least where to find them.
