Any Gibson neck gets better when played in. A normally finished gets less sticky and smoother, and I guess that the faded ones get better too.

One good thing about having a guitar that isn't over flashy (no binding, matte finish etc) is that you're not too afraid of scratching it or ding it.

I've put at least 30 hours of play on this so far, and it really seems like the neck has smoothed out even more. Could be I'm all wet, but it does seem like it. Maybe it's just a matter of the wax heating up and going into the wood or something. 1500 grit sandpaper feels faster than 0000 steel whool, even though the whool is smoother. A glass finish is sticky, that's why it feels smoother even though playing it has roughed it up.

Neck belt is the main fact which you are sharing....I think you are right. But only he can understand about this who are using this guitar since a long time.
