Hi all, I finally finished my latest project. I have always wanted a Jackson but didn't want to spend the cash (can't afford it right now or justify it) or buy a cheapie that I would not like. Anyway, I found some Jackson parts on eBay and decided to try to go for it. I found a PS-4 body that looked new and wound up winning it for $33.00. Pretty good, now for a neck. After a few more days I finally won a PS-2 neck for $66.00. After picking up smaller parts like a "Jackson" neckplate (with serial #) and "Jackson" tuning pegs. I was on my way. I already had a brand new Floyd trem. from another failed project lying around along with some Duncan Distortions and a Dimarzio single coil (stacked humbucker) I put it all together. After playing it, it sounded great, but I tried another experiment. I replaced the 500K volume pot with a 1 Meg pot and it really made the difference. It really opened up the sound. It really sounds like I have EMG's in it. I finally have my Jackson and it sounds awesome, and it only cost me approximately $120.00. Not bad since I have seen Jackson PS-4's going for around $500-$600. I think I did really good. I posted some pictures of the body parts before and after. Tell me what you think. Thanks, John HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

Hi flyv, Thanks for the compliment. I really am happy with it. I never played a neck so thin, it feels so different and great at the same time.
As for the neck holes, yes, I had to drill the holes in the body to match the holes already in the neck. To do it I made a paper template that matched the base of the neck and then marked the 4 screw holes from the neck onto the paper. After cutting out the template and verifying that it matched the neck base I placed the paper in the neck pocket and marked the four holes. I drilled them from the inside out and it seemed to work pretty good. One of the holes was drilled at a slight angle by accident (I wish I had a drill press!!) It went together pretty well. Not too hard but a little challenging.
Thanks again for the compliment

ExCap, that is one sweet looking axe you constructed! Great bit of shopping by the way! My son was looking at the pics and kind of fell in love with it. He already has an RR 5, and SL 1. He won`t even touch my Epi `cause it`s not a Jackson. What a snob.
