I was wondering what all of you think about these new "Master Series" guitars Squire introduced a few months ago. www.squierguitars.com/products/index.php I've chanced upon a few of them and they have Duncan desinged pickups on the higher priced models, and generics on the cheaper ones. The Esprit is chambered, and has an airiness like the Epi Alleykat, and the neck radii are nice and fat on all of them, but smaller than a Gibson '50s cut. Have any of ya'll played any of these, and if so what'd you think?

I had my local guitar shop order in an Esprit in sunburst. When it came in I bought it and played it about 2 weeks before returning it. I couldn't stand the string buzz. I tried to adjust it out by raising the action and putting a little more relief in the neck but I quickly determined that it would take a major fret job to really get it out. I have checked out the Squier section on the Fender Forum and read that string buzz seems to be to common a thing in the Esprits. Aside from that though it is a beautiful guitar made really well and is very comfortable to play. When I returned the Esprit I got a new Epi LP Plus in honeyburst. Boy, what a pleasure it is. No string buzz, low action, great sounding pups and topped off with a gorgeous flamed top. Luvs it.

Hey pearsol! Could you send a pic of the honeyburst? I am curios on how it looks on epis, cause I have only seen gibbys in honeyburst. The Epi honeyburst looks nothing like Gibson's. The Epi has a much darker brown burst. It looks great though... kinda Jimmy Page-ish!!! When I bought my LP Standard Plus, I was torn between the honeyburst and trans amber. The store I deal with was kind enough to order one of each, so that I could make my choice. I went with the honeyburst, but the store wasn't left holding the bag with the trans amber... it sold the next day. FWIW: the Squier Esprit is a reissue of the Fender Esprit from the 80's.

Wow! That looks awesome! While we are in the subjekt, I have a few questions:
Is there any difference between a heritage sunburst and a heritage cherry sunburst, or are they the same?
I have seen some real nice looking vintage sunbursts with a little touch of red after the black, and some with no red at all. Are they two kinds or do they just vary from guitar to guitar?
What does TRI sunburst stand for(I only think that gibson makes these)? I've seen one and it was so beutyful.
The reason why I'm wondering all this is because I have seen some real nice sunbursts, and some not quite as nice, and I just wanted to know if it is because of different constructers or if they are supposed to be that way. Sorry for the many questions.

Thanks, When it comes to Epi Les Pauls I believe that "Heritage" and "Heritage Cherry" are the same burst schemes. The "Vintage" bursts are dark almost black on the edges. What I consider TRI color burst is the dark "Vintage" color on the outside with a little "Heritage Red" next then the natural color being in the middle.
