Wow... look at this marvellous beauty I found on the Unsung site. You know the korean manufacturer that produces guitars for Epiphone. But they also have guitar series of their own. How nice, I wish someone would have the balls to import them to Europe... especially to Germany! *drool* By the way, the manufacturer´s website is www.unsung.co.kr

The website says birdseye maple top, and as far as the other guitars (the Les Paul types) have mahogany bodies I´d say it should be mahogany as well. The Les Pauls on the Unsung website look very similar to Johnson and Del Ray guitars, I guess Unsung builds more OEM guitars than series labelled with their own brand. In any case the Explorer beauty must be not too expensive and in any case it should be made of solid wood. So what the heck... I don´t care too much about this when it comes to affordable guitars. As long as it is solid and not particle board it is very okay.

The top has to be a veneer.
Solid wood can mean mahogany. It can also mean basswood, agathis, poplar, or alder.

hey that would work!!!!!! ;D hell ya!!!!!! i was lookin at the samick site a while back, and the V they make looks like an early 80s giby i used to have, minus the head stock. gibys have pointed ones, and the samicks have the squareish style.....either way nice....very nice. sean
