Hi there. I'm considering buying myself a Epiphone 58' Flying V, so I was wondering if anyone here had any experience with it. All info is appreciated. Also, if anyone has any sites with reviews of it, that would be great.
Thanks in advance

Hehehe, rofl... what kind of language is this? Not enough that we have me as a german with my attempts mastering english language and Wicked Wishes and his red neck slang... is it swedish? By the way, I had both Epiphone V´s... a '67 and an '58... the differences between both are minimal, you can find any desired information concerning materials, pickups, etc. on the official Epiphone site. I consider both guitars, also the gothic V that is much alike the '58 as perfect guitars for any kind of hard rock or metal music... but, I have to admit the stock metal covered pickups of the regular '58 don´t suit the guitar... they are to mellow for that kind of guitar, what was not originally intended for blues or jazz... a metal guitar needs more powerful pickups. If one can consider a V generally as a "metal guitar" By the way, I forgot, I had a gothic V as well, which I sold quickly because the pitch black matt finish became glossy and I didn´t fancy having a speckled guitar... ;D

Hehe. It's norwegian. Yes, I did find some info on the epiphone site, but I like to hear what other people think of the guitar. And I will change the pickups on it, thought not right away, since I'm a broke man. One thing; how's the neck? Thick or thin?

One thing; how's the neck? Thick or thin? The necks are quite beefy... Almost like a Les Paul, but of course you have an optimum access to the higher frets... Never came across an Epiphone that had a real slim neck, they all feel somewhat "les paulish", the neck of the Gothic V I had seemed to have a more flat radius though, but it could be my imagination. All in all the V is a nice guitar but be prepared it will head neck towards down, I suggest you might buy a wide suede leather strap quickly.

yeah, harmony central is great, www.musicgearreview.com/reviews is usually pretty decent too. ...and yes, prepare for the neck to dive if you don't have a strap that sticks to your shoulder.

Yeah, I reccomend harmony-central too The neck diving business is a bit unnerving for a start but you soon get used to it. although, i have a handheld tuner and still struggle to tune standing up without lifting a leg.... ;D tricky stuff. but a seriously cool guitar james
