I've decided to run away from the pack and get an Ibanez AR3000 instead of the LP Vintage Mahogany I had planned on. For $300 more, I'll have a nicer finish, and the Ibanez Super 58 PUPs I've heard lots of folks rave about. It has a maple top, which I'm kinda indifferent about, but it seems to me like a better deal than the VM or a new LP Standard( about $750 difference there)
Thoughts?.......

An Ibanez Artist is in any case a lovely guitar, still I´d like to have one myself. It reminds me a little on a Gibson Double Cutaway model. I played an Artist that belonged to a pal once and I must say it felt very like a Les Paul.  In my opinion Ibanez is one of the finest manufacturers of guitars, I love their Destroyer -, Rocket Roll -,Artist -, Iceman - series, to cut it short, their series that are mainly based on Gibson designs and have set necks, I don´t like their assorted power strat series. The Ibanez pickups are also very good in the higher priced series, alot of them are OEM versions of DiMarzio.  If you ask me, I´d say go for an Ibanez Artist.  |

yes...ditto's on the artist series. The upper line models have ebony necks abd the ones i've tinkered on felt great. Had one on my wish list for a long time...just haven't pulled the trigger.

That's one expensive piece of wood ! !  Pretty sure the neck is mahogany, but might be maple. |
