does the epi/lp have long shaft pots or short shaft?i know the gib/lps have long Looks like short shaft pots used in my Zakk Lp. as I still have the long pots left over(my set came with both)... Hope that helps

thanks.that is an epi lp?yikes i may nees new pots what i ordered was long shaft Yea it's an EPI....But I think the long shafts can work also...Maybee just ad another adjustment nut to the pot and set it so the vol.and tone nobs sit nice against the body?But dont really know for sure.Maybee someone here with more exp. can help .....You could also start a new thread so more members can help..

i am getting the 81 and 85 and long shaft pots with stereo connector and a battery clip. not the zak wylde pack

Before you go changing out the pups have you tried changing pots and putting different value capacitors in? Knowing Epi the pots are probably 500k, try 250k's. Put a .033 cap for the bridge and a .022 for the neck. Pup height can also make a difference. What type and guage of strings are you using on it?

9's or 10's depends on my mood.already bought the pups,300 retail here i got them for 129 u.s.(190 ca) "500k, try 250k's. Put a .033 cap for the bridge and a .022 for the neck" what does the 500k/250 mean? and what is a .033&.022? sorry i am all new to this thanks

Thanks for the advice CAFeathers! I haven't tried replacing pots or caps yet. Im going to leave it for a while yet. Also I currently have 10's on it but I sometimes go with 9's depending on my mood.

For the strings try a set of light top/heavy bottom 10's or if you can handle it a set of 11's. And if you are really experimental try some flat wounds.
