Are there any companies out there making affordable rickenbacker copies?

Rickenbacker has the 650D "Dakota" that actually lists for $999 so cost would be about $600. I have not seen anybody lately with Rick copies.

Maybe, I dunno, there's still plenty of small guitar companies that I've never heard of that make inexpensive copies, but I've never seen any Rickenbackers.

I just did a little research over on the Rickenbacker forum and it would seem that Rickenbacker is much faster at shutting down companies that try to copy them than most. Apparently Johnson is next in line, and also Jay Turser.

I remember a few months ago following some links to a site overseas (I'm in the U.S.) that made some 330 and 360 clones -- but they weren't all that cheap.
By the way, CAFeathers, I saw a pic you posted of your "lefty" -- pretty cool! I have a stock right-handed 360-12 in FireGlo myself....

Apparently alot of Rick clones are/were from Germany.
Thanks OG, that 360/12 has got to be a sweet guitar too!

Apparently alot of Rick clones are/were from Germany. Thanks OG, that 360/12 has got to be a sweet guitar too! Strangely, it wasn't Germany, but my memory is such that I can't recall where it was! For years I'd assumed the Rickenbacker company was German -- from the sound of the name and the fact that John Lennon returned from there with his.... And, yes, mine is sweet -- all the more so because after wanting one for over 30 years it was given to me....

I know that Kurt at Rondo (Agile) Music was selling them until the Guys in suits showed up with a little legal action....available no more.
Copies are hard to find. Espically when you consider that they get eBay to cancel auctions of copies too...
