I have a Fender Tele with old fashioned MHeads - the type with the slot on top.
It always takes me ages restringing, as i am used to grover kidney button' on my LP's.
anyone out there have any advice on....
a. easiest way to restring?
b. some decent replacements?
Thanks

Are those like Bass tuners?
If so, there is a hole in the center of the tuner, after you measure some string length past the tuner cut the end off the string. Then you insert the string straight down into the hole and bend the string down into one side of the slot. Start winding so the string stays to the inside of the the headstock. Tune to pitch.
As far as replacements, I would imagine a set of new stock Fender tuning machines would work.

Yeah, sounds like P-Tuners that are standard on the Fender Nashville Telecaster. I'd replace em with something else....
