I don't have a Jackson but I've got the guitar that Jackson copied. I have a US made Charvel. Grover Jackson bought Charvel out back in the 80's. I think the Charvel's and early Jackson's are about as perfect a guitar for playing hard rock/metal as their is. The neck for lead playing is so fast and plays effortestly.
I'm not nearly as crazy about the newer Jackson's. They just feel different. I can't quite put my finger on as to why.

Back in the day I had a red Charvel strat looking thing given to me by a girlfriend. I loved it ( can't say the same for her). It played real sweet, and had a wild tone, a definate change from my Gibson. Well when she went so did it. Never missed her ,but the guitar haunts me from time to time. I played a Jackson V I liked the other day but it had been set up and worked on quite a bit. For the most part I am not a fan of todays Jacksons.

I have to agree with Zac, I don´t like nowaday´s Jacksons, I don´t like them for the same cause I don´t like those Ibanez power strats. The necks are so thin and wide, and the feel of these guitars is... don´t know how to discribe it, ...like plastic, not wood... if you know what I mean? I mean of course Jackson and Ibanez are good manufacturers but their guitars absolutely don´t suit to me. Hehe, the best thing about Jackson is Jenna Jameson doing advertisements for them... lol Woooohooo! ;D
