Yes my first electric guitar was given to me by my dad. It was his 1962 Gretsch Corvette, burgandy finish, single open coil humbucker, 2 nobs, and had that wild tremlo piece with that big ole spring in there. He got it back when I bought my second guitar and my little brother had it until he was caught standing on it. My dad still has it. I will get you a picture of it. This particular moddle has a headstock on it that looks like an upside down fender headstock with 2 tuners on top and 4 on bottom. Pretty rare.

You'll love this. I use to have a 64' tennessean , Chet Atkins model. Traded an Alvarez 12 string I had about $250 for it. That was in 1978. Played it for about 5yrs and traded it for a gibson "the paul" because I wanted humbuckers. Really liked the gretsch..just did't have the money back then for a stable of guitars. Had a guy in my lab a number of years ago and we started talking guitars..he was a collector. Told him what I had and what I traded it for....He started to smile..then started chuckling...I said, ok...I musta made a bad deal...what was it worth...Then he told me....lol. Actually, I did ok. I traded up from my investment everytime. I just didn't realize what I had at the time Really nice guitar though. I just wasn't into rockabilly like I am now. Sure wish I had that puppy back Still need some lessons
