Surfing on ebay....saw some neat hollowbodys for dirt cheap $199 for a AS820 (like a dot) and $299 for a AS920 (like a ES175). Anybody know anything about these. Sure can't find them in the store. I know I've heard people talk favorably about them (Agiles) on the EPI site Thinking about an impulse purchase here.

Where on Ebay did you find them? I searched on Ebay U.S.A and on our german Ebay site, no Agiles guitars to be found... maybe post a link to that specific guitars you found. Lots of unknown brands from Korea or China are sometimes found on Ebay, often they are from production lines intended for foreign countries and sold in your own country under a different brand name. I am just curious now...

It was on USA ebay, just go to electrics and under other brands search type in Agile. There was one vender that seemed to have a ton of them. Sorry...not sure how to post a link or I would. Just got through checking out reviews on Harmony Central. I think an L-5 copy is in my future.

well, I am the "Agile expert"...LOL AND I just pruchased an AGile 820 yesterday for 199.00. Guy's it a no brainer.
AS much as I love Epiphones, the Agile line of guitars is at least equal to the Standard Epiphone line. In many cases, better.
I have 2 agiles at the moment, not counting the Agile 820 that is on the way. They are terrifi and Kurt at Rondo provides rare, outstanding customer service.

These guitars are a popular point of discussion over at Harmony-central.
EVERY one I have had has been outstanding. Kurt has a 30 day money back deal. There are no suspect pots to replace, no switches to swap out and no tone knobs to deal with.
I would rate the out of the box pickups are clearer than those that you would find on a $500 Epiphone. Of course, pickups are very subjective and hard to quantify.
Fit and finish is well beyond what you would expect from a budget guitar. Ill be happy to send you a few pics of my 2800 Les Paul copy so that you can see for yourself...

;D Lol, okay the keyword was AGILE not AGILES, hehe... I took a look and it blew me of my shoes! Those guitars look sweet, sweet, sweet.... Oh boy, there is an Explorer with flamed maple top in cherry sunburst, I wished Epiphone had one of those, hehe! But somehow Epiphone is missing the boat. When I saw the Agile Les Pauls it came to my mind that this AGILE guitars must be from the same factory maybe that manufactures the brand STAGG, which is popular in Germany for affordable guitars. Agiles are not known here, is it the house-brand of an american guitar stores company? Here some of the bigger stores have so called house-brands that are available there exclusively. But seeing those pictures I think I maybe order a guitar from the U.S., this flamed maple Explorer.... *drool*

Yea...I'm a sick puppy. I've been wanting a hollowbody. I've also wanted to try something with a P-90. At $199 a piece...shoot I might just get the AS820 (dot) and the LP2500 P-90 goldtop (like 56 reissue). Or just go for the AS820 P-90 (casino?). Haven't decided yet. check out this link if you haven't found it yet www.rondomusic.bigstep.comStill need some lessons

Hmmmmmmm, I emailed those guys and asked about shipping costs. Unfortunately they told it was 75 $ including insurance and it may take 3 - 4 weeks. Anyway 75 $ is too much. I considered to buy one and let it maybe delivered to a pal who lives in San Diego and let him send it to me, we just have to check out the fee. Or maybe wait until he comes over to Germany to visit me and bring it over in his baggage and as a gift to avoid customs. I really would like the arched top Les Paul DC and the nice Explorer with flamed maple top. On the photographs I saw the tuners looked crappy, but anyway most tuners on Epiphones demand upgrades too... Looking on those Les Pauls I came to the conclusion that these guitars must be from the same manufacturer that produces Stagg guitars for Germany, there is one Les Paul in kind of tobacco sunburst that looks 100% exactly like mine. Okay the headstock is somewhat different. But the cutway is different compared with a Gibson/Epiphone just like on mine. Does any of you know why on copies often details are different? Due to copyright limitations? I mean you can copyright a headstock-shape and register it as trademark, but a cutaway? If I could only find an affordable way to get such a guitar to Germany, lol... why haven´t we established an AGILE site instead of Epiphone? ;D Hehe, but I am glad we can post this stuff here and no mod deletes our posts. Or will you, Reverbboy? Hehe!

The tuners that are used on the 2500 series Agiles are Grover and are very nice.
