;D Couldn´t resist the G.A.S.! As mentioned in another thread I was looking for another guitar. I decided for this one. I copied some of the pics from the Ebay site







I have to pay for it on monday and it hopefully will be delivered soon. At least it says so and the dealer has a very positive feeedback. Amazing, how close it is to a Gibson lookwise. I am really curious how it will sound. Mahogany body and neck, and what was most important to me is the original design. Even the neck joint/neck heel is more alike the Gibson originals. The Epi Vs have a somewhat slimmer one, more alike a Hamer Vector. Oh boys, I am really excited. I think I will change the control knobs for those hat types (maybe golden ones according to the gold hardware), those vintage looking ones here I don´t like... Well I was thinking about to fake a Gibby out of this and wanted to put on a decal on the headstock and refinish it, but lo and behold... I forgot something! It is even easier... Most Gibson Vs come as well with no brandname on the headstock. I simply need to find an original Gibson truss rod cover with the impressive name... ;D Any suggestions where to look out for one? I searched the official website www.gibson.com but found nothing like knobs and truss rod covers. Any suggestions? I´ll keep you updated as soon as the guitar is delivered.

man that sure looks like a gibson. except for the truss plate you cant tell the difference. pretty sweet

Congrats! I really like that one.

I've seen truss rod covers and headstock veneers on ebay before. I guess you'll just have to look around and see what you can find.

Beautiful, was that new or used? I love the SX brand, pretty much all it needs is a new set of pickups and she'll be ready to scream with the best of 'em.

Well, it was delivered last saturday after only 5 days... and I must say the pick ups are really nice. No need to change them for aftermarket ones. A complete review will come soon..., by the way it was new, not a second hand offer.

Replying on the tuners: I could gig my SX jazz bass, let it sit untouched for two weeks and then pick it up again with it in perfect tune. I don't know what or how they do it, but I'm definitely a fan of the quality.

hey man rondo music used to sell them.....yes sir those sx brand Vs i think got them in giby lawsuit trouble. but as far as im concerned...killer score bro!!!!! big time you hit the V jack pot..... ;D ;D ;D ;D im happy for you, nothing like a new V.....i cant get enoygh of them either.....

Here are some pics I made today with my crappy digicam. I changed the stock SG style poti knobs for golden "hat style" knobs and erased the SX brand logo on the truss rod cover. I think I will have my own name engraved there instead for swapping it for a Gibson original. The price they ask is insane.







The camera doesn´t do the guitar justice... I should spend money next time on a decent camera, lol! ;D

steel man....nice V....im supprised at how cool the overseas made stuff is getting. ya you cant beat a new spin off V.....last time i talked to kurt at rondo , when they had those, he said they wouldnt most likely be gettin anymore of em......so you did i like that. man it makes me jones big time.....G.A.S!!!!!!!@!!
