Wooohooo, the next guitar arrived this morning! I must have a GAS. Well, it´s again an affordable Stagg Les Paul, with set neck, open coil humbuckers, I´d say a perfect copy of a Les Paul Studio... no bindings, just deep black and high glossy! My other Stagg Les Paul is in the gallery already, what I said there about the "tobacco sunburst one" is valid for this new one also, nice tuners, decent stock pickups (anyway I will change the bridge pickup soon... ), somehow when I look at those AGILE guitars I suspect the Stagg guitars being from the same factory, especially the Les Paul models look very alike... I keep you updated about my new axe!

Hmm, didn't you just get that other silver LP copy a few days ago? Definately post some pics though.

Oh man I wish I was picking up guitars as often as you I often pick up affordable or cheap guitars when the mood takes me, sometimes there is a keeper among all those guitars sold on Ebay for little money. When I buy a guitar I consider as no good I simply re-sell it. At the moment I am trying to save money for either an Elitist or a Hamer... I am not ashamed owning some affordable guitars among my Epis and Gibson, if a guitar feels good, looks good and sounds good it is a good guitar! What I forgot, I took the guitar to the rehearsal room today to have some fun on a boring easter sunday. I tried the guitar with a real amp then, those V Amps and PODs are seemingly not the right amplification to judge the qualities of a guitar. Well, I was pretty surprised, the pickups are very nice and provide a very smooth tone, the right guitar for overdrive and crunch sounds, mellow type distortion and warm lead sounds. I think I´ll keep those pickups!

I'm sure there's plenty of stock pickups that are decent, but what do you mean by a "real amp?"

I'm sure there's plenty of stock pickups that are decent, but what do you mean by a "real amp?" I meant an amp with cabinet or a combo amp, a real amp, not a virtual amp like a POD or a Behringer V Amp that goes straight to a mixing console or to headphones. In my opinion those guitar amp simulations sound very good for practise at home and for recording, but to value a guitar´s qualities you need to play it loud using guitar speakers not recording monitors. ... a real amp..., hehe, forgive me, I´m only german, maybe I used the wrong word...
