Hi folks,new to the forum here and would like to hear from the professionals on this one.Yesterday I bought an epi les paul std limited edition with a nice black cherry quilted top for......ready for this ...80.00.The catch is that the headstock was broken clean off but it has been repaired and seems to be done well.Also tuning gears are missing.I am in the process of cleaning it up and trying to make the headstock repair as nice as I can(can post some pics if you like)Anyway's my main question is,can you check the headstock repair just by trying to break it with your hands?I grabbed the neck with one hand and the headstock with the other and tried as hard as I could to snap it off and it wouldn't budge so I bought it.I don't know if this is a good way to tell if the repair was done well or not.If anyone has any experience in this I would appreciate anything you could tell me. One last thing about the guitar is that I have never seen another one in this finish except for this one;
According to the serial number the guitar was made at the Qingdao Plant (Epiphone), China on March, 2007 Production Number: 1327
Just found it a little strange that I could only find one of these besides mine on the net.Now that's what I call a limited edition . Thanks for your time ,appreciate any info you can shoot my way,Cheers.
