I have been looking around at Epi LP's and this one really caught my eye. I have not had a chance to play the Black Beauty yet so I don't really know how it sounds. Can anyone who has played one tell me the pros and cons about it? I don't want to jump to any conclusions. Thank you in advance.

The Beauty is a good guitar. Having said that i personally don't care for that middle pick-up getting in the way of my picking. It's really just a Ebony Custom with an extra pick-up, not to say you won't be happy with it either way.

Before ordering one, make sure you played one before. The middle pick up might be getting in the way depending on your picking style. I played several so called "powerstrats" with either H S H or H S S pick up configurations. The middle pick up was always annoying. Just my two cents.

yeah, I'm going to try to get out to Musicians Friend later this week to see if they have any. Only problem is their store hours and my work hours kinda conflict.

Actually, Musician's Friend is connected to Guitar Center. If you go on the Guitar Center site and click the tab to shop their store it brings you to the Musician's Friend site. I once saw a guitar cheaper on the MF website and printed it out on my computer and brought it to Guitar Center and they honored the price which was lower than on the tag at the store.

I´d go for such a limited run. What can be nicer than a translucent finish? Especially when it comes to Les Pauls... Maybe a limited edition can become a collectors item, even when it´s "only" an Epiphone.
