What To Wear To A 70s Party?

My cousin is having a 70s themed Birthday Party next week and I'm not sure what to wear, would converses work and I saw this at claire's (blue or pink see link below) and I absolutely love it and I wanna get it to wear at the party but do you think its too 80s. What other things would be good All suggestions welcome =)

They need to be in the window Window Shades. They do drip water and are not meant to sit inside.
