Keiwan, keep in mind that a Les Paul has a short 24.75" scale, this also causes less string tension compared to 25.5" scales, when using a light gauge this might lead to a somewhat flabby feeling.

Ok I have a request to any other board member who has a les paul standard plus. Could you possible post pics of the paper work that came in the box? I didn't get any paper work with mine because it was an open box. Man tuning this guitar is proving to be troublesome. I have a digital tuner where I plug in to it and strum and adjust till it get the right pitch, but most of the time when the right pitch it achieved the strings seem to be too loose. Am I doing something wrong? Here is the manual that Epiphone has put online. www.epiphone.com/images/EpiOwnrsManul.pdf

Thanks for the advice steel. The first thing I did when I got home the day I got the guitar was put in some new .10 gidson sig strings. So I already have the better guage. Well I've been praticing and its seems to be more comfortable just one string that still feels loose. I'll try retuning tomorrow.
