My gear

I wasn't sure where to post this, so I guess this is as good a place as any. This is all my gear which I've purchased in the last 7 months since deciding to start playing again after 15 years.



From the left:

- Jackson DK2LE (Limited edition special run of 24 serialized guitars, 1-hum with EMG 81, maple fretboard, #14 of 24)

- Jackson Crimson Swirl DK2 (Had the dealer install a SD Distortion in the bridge prior to shipment and just this past week I installed better pots, switch, cap and a SD Lil' 59 in the neck. It was my first time working on a guitar and I found it very satisfying doing it myself. You can see where I previously began replacing all the hardware with black components beginning with Schaller tuners, straplocks and knobs. It'll be complete when the Floyd Rose Pro I ordered a couple days ago arrives.)

- Marshall AVT275 with Marshall 1936 2x12 cab

- Epi Les Paul Custom (Began to get some serious LP GAS late summer so she was the cure. And I love 'er! Great guitar. May do some upgrades in the near future to make 'er more special.)

- Digitech GNX4
- Digitech X-Series Metal Master distortion
- Digitech X-series Digidelay

And last but not least, here is my son Randy (take a guess who he's named after ;D ) with his Epi ZW LPC with a set of ZW EMGs. It's his 3rd guitar. Started him out with a Fender Squire starter package, sold it and got him a Jackson DK2S when I bought my DK2.



That's about it... for now. GAS may hit again soon. I really want to get a Jackson USA Select sometime soon. Take care everyone!

What a nice way to introduce yourself! A nice collection of gear I must say for 7 months... You are the king of G.A.S. seemingly, hehe! I like the Crimson Swirl Jackson alot, it looks beautyful... I´ve been drooling at a Jackson catalogue here from time to time... They offer a RR in this swirl finish, too. The Seymour Duncan pickups are really a great upgrade for that guitar I guess. Wait until you have good aftermarket pickups in your Epi Les Paul... you will not believe your ears! Also I have to agree that modifying a guitar with own hands and skills is indeed very satisfying. It makes a guitar more personal, other than just buying/ordering an already customized instrument. Nice stuff USAFDude!!!!!!

I have been gassing for 25 years now and all that gear you got in the last few months has got me JEALOUS!!!!! You've got me "GASing" again. Also I want that guitar you son has!!!!! (not his, but one of my own! I won't be climbing in your window!!) I just got my son a Squire Fat Strat for Christmas just so he would stopping bugging me to borrow my gear when his friends come over!!!!

Yeah, I love my Jacksons and hopefully there's an RR1 in my near future. I've seen the Crimson Swirl RR3 and seriously considered getting one since it matched my Dinky (in fact there's one on ebay right now) but I've decided to hold off for an RR1 which will be my first USA Jackson.

Sorry for causing your GAS attack... wait, no I'm not! ;D Our kinda GAS is the best. Like being a kid again but now we can afford most of our toys. Ya know, there IS a cure for it, though. I believe she sleeps beside you every night and will kick your butt if you buy one more guitar.

Thanx! Yeah, I like my amp and it's a keeper... for now. ;D *cough... GAS... cough*. Just think of all the gear I could have if I weren't spending so much keeping my son AND me happy. He plays through a Marshall MG30DFX with a couple of pedals but he's ready for something else. He's developing somewhat of an ear for his tone so I'm thinking of surprising him with a new amp for his birthday in June. I've been looking at the Marshall AVT50 head with matching slant cab. He'll be able to keep it for a long time and it'll be perfect if he wants to get a band together. Besides, once he's famous he'll be buying me that retirement home in Florida anyway, so think of it as investment. ;D

i agree, this is the best investment you could ever give a child......guitars n amps what i liked about your stack....is its a 2x12 combo, and a cabinet, those are my favorite, no matter the brand.....i was watching a QUEEN dvd last weekend, and brian may had 12 vox style, 50 watt i assume, combos piled up on each other... :)and all i could think about is what if he had a slant cab to go with each unit.......GAS!!!!!!! big time....it almost made me want to go get more stuff....another crate 120 2x12, and another behringer like i presently have......heheheheheh maybe some day...
