...probably catchin' up to the rest of you guys with this.......
...the battery died on my little Korg CA-30 tuner......there's an excuse for buying new equipment.....let me explain further.....when I went to change the battery the tuner was not in it's usual zippered pocket along with a metronome....thinking it was lost I decided that it was an opportunity to invest in a better tuner like my music teacher used....he had used his Boss to intonate my Dot.......eventually I found the Korg in another section of the case.....decided to go ahead and buy the Boss anyway.............
...according to my teacher...the other Boss models...TU-12H and TU-15...are new & improved versions....the one thing he doesn't like about them is that they "beep" when string's in tune........
...as far as intonating my Dot by myself....I'm not there yet.....there's more to it than reading a meter on a tuner...........
...using the Boss TU-12 seems easier/quicker because the analog meter is more responsive than the digital meter of the Korg CA-30...........
...it ought to be for the difference in the price......there's also a 1/4" Line Outlet so you can have it "inline" (turned off) while playing your guitar.............

I'm with you: the TU-12 is the way to go. I have one and my guitar tech has two -- one of his is many years old -- and once as a test we put all three in series and they came up with the same "in tune" point. Not so with a couple other tuners we tried, and my PODs never agree either, or have a wider acceptance range. I use the TU-12 as my absolute reference. By the way, I guess I'm another analog guy in a digital age.

...well...it's good to know that I'm not the only one who's digitally challenged................
...good to know that you think highly of the TU-12 too...don't you just hate buying something and finding out later that it's not as good as you thought it was.......
...and I don't mean to put the Korg down...it does what it does at a very reasonable price.....the one great thing it has going for itself is its size...................

...you might want to try it out first.....I'd think twice about a tuner that beeps....could be distracting/annoying to the people around you..............
...another good thing about the Boss tuners...batteries are included..............
