I bought a humbucker pickup from Ebay, and guess what? I´ve been cheated. I bid on a Shadow SH681 and what was delivered is a no name pickup, which looks alike, but there are some obivous differences at first glance, at least to an "experienced Epifriend"... Well the pickup that was delivered is not the pickup shown in the offer and it does not match the description. I emailed the seller, curious what he will answer.

did he have a positive feedback rating ? I'm always leary and generally won't bid if they're feedback rating is not near 100% and if there are negatives...if I really like the item...research what went wrong with the other transactions. sorry for you. ebay purchases if you get a good deal is like getting a present in the mail. i've been lucky so far. no bad transactions. knock on wood. hopefully he makes it right for you.

Well the pickup I got was from electronic shack but is properly waxed and doesn´t sound too bad. I got it cheap and the seller replied he got it from a friend that told him it was a Shadow. Well, the typical excuse. I did not want to argue and called it quits, the pickup is really okay though not the one I was bidding for. Recently I checked this guy´s feedback anew and guess what? Now he is seemingly in trouble. Other people who paid actually alot more than me are complaining! I emailed him again and gave him advice to stop this practics. Seemingly he buys lots of cheap assorted electronic shack crapola, remainders and special offers and resells them with cunning words. If you ask me he should be thrown out of Ebay. He always answers nice and polite, he is obviously very well knowing what he is doing. It´s nothing illegal... He offers his crap as PAF style pickups, says the photograph is borrowed somewhere from the web and the pickups he sells would look almost alike. Hmmm, in my case he said "Shadow" and offered me money back, but for that price I paid I did not want to make a big affair out of it. What do we learn again? Keep your eyes open on Ebay and DO WATCH the feedback.

Sorry to hear that Steel, The days of a hand shake and trust in buying is going away faster and faster, Cynical sounding but all too true, at least it wasn't a total loss, but still I know how you feel, keep the faith - Jim I know how to behave, I've had lessons!!!!!
