Since yesterday we have a new guitarist in our band. A female guitarist... She has a lovely cherry sunburst Les Paul, that she purchased as new a couple of years ago. Of course I admitted I am an "Epifriend" and wanted to see the serial number to identify this guitar a bit closer. The number was F612XXXX. It seems obvious that the guitar was made in december 1996, according to the other serial numbers we meanwhile know. But for which factory and country of origin stands the F. Maybe someone can help me...

Steel 'F' is Fine Guitar in Korea. I had a LP STD in '96 from Fine and it was on par with the Samick made LP's in my opinion. Here is Fine's website. www.fineguitar.com/

Thanks alot, Smooth. Fine Guitars from Korea. Seemingly they discontinued making guitars for Epiphone at some point in time. But "F" is "Fine Guitars/Korea", I will add this to the FAQ section later today. Thanks!
