Probably an unexperienced buyer would consider it as normal that a Gibson pickup is designed by Gibson, lol... that´s quite normal, but to us connoisseurs it is clear it makes no sense to put a sticker on it in addition. It would be the same if you buy a brandnew car, let´s say a Mercedes Benz, with a sticker on it "made by Mercedes Benz"... lol. Yes ExCaptain, this is another attempt of a shady seller that obviously made a mistake. He can only cheat the uninformed, but not us. The only good thing about all those offers is that those guys have in most cases less knowledge than we have. But I feel sorry for someone who spends his hard earned money on such auctions.

One of them looks like it has the "Patent Applied For" sticker on the back similar to Gibson's 57 classic. Wonder if he just put that sticker there or if they are legit Gibsons.

Well, Smooth I compared it with the photographs on the Gibson site, the small sticker looks as if it was an "patent applied for"-sticker, but why the heck should someone put this well known Epiphone stickers on Gibson pickups. If so it would only cause this kind of confusion we have here now... lol, hmmm. If I´d sell high quality pickups I would make a real detailed photograph of the back side of the pickups showing something "engraved", like a brand name or the name of the model.

Here's the gentlemens answer... seems to be a straight shooter. "Well, actually they are not epiphones. These are out of an es 135, but some idiot took a sticker off of an epiphone guitar here and put it on these pickups - I just took the pictures. These are indeed classic 57's. You are the second person who has noticed this. I'm going to end the auction and relist it correctly. Thanks for bringing it to my attention.
