Is this a real Gibson...?

I was winning the auction but retracted from it because of its unconvincing looks.

I was winning this auction also, but what EPI is THIS? Some of the pictures aren't even viewable.

Something is fishy about the Gibson one, and there is no guitar at all on the 2nd auction...just an empty case. weird.

If it is a Gibson, it doesn't look like a very high quality one - maybe an old special or something. Is it just me or do the top points on the left and right side of the headstock seem to point up just a little bit too much...hmm.

On the second auction I can see three pictures, one of them is just the case - I guess so that you can see the case. It looks like a studio from a few years back - like the standards but without binding and the flame top veneer.

My question on that one is ...Did gibson ever make a bolt on neck guitar!?!...And the headstock looks weird...I agree with zep on the Epi tho looks like a studio!!!

The Gibson Marauder and the Sonex were both bolt on neck guitars.

I have to second Zep´s comment about the headstock shape... it looks a little bit non-genuine...

True that sandman. Also the Gibson S1, Invader, L6S (I think) and I have seen a V with a bolt on neck as well.


Yeah the head stock looks like no other Gibson I have ever seen. At first glance you can see it aint right. But look even closer at the logo and it is a bit too askew and the logo its self is no centered. I can't say its a fake but I would not buy it.

I saw a wierd gibson at long and mcquade not so long ago... It was probably a kids model, bolt on neck... and the whole thing was painted red with what looked like the cheapest acrylic paint you can get It had a single humbucker... and i think it was under $300 canadian... not sure..
