I bought a 1999 LP Studio Limited Edition, aquamarine, missing the pick guard. Can anyone tell me:
a. is aquamarine the official color name? b. what color pick guard it came with?
I believe Ol Geezer mentioned having access to a 1999 Epi catalog which may be a real help.
Thanks! Devdem

Smooth, one of our members might be the best to answer that question.

The catalog cover shows a Casino in what they call Turquoise, which I think is the color you are referring to. That Casino has a white pickguard, but that doesn't guarantee a Les Paul Studio in Turquoise would have come with a white one; the sunburst Studio in the catalog has a black pickguard.

Thanks.
The pickups and rings are all black, so I'm gambling a guess the pickguard may have been black to match.
If the tuning knobs end up being pearl, I may opt for a pearl pickguard, but would always like to know the original shipped color for reference.

I would think the rings would match the guard. You can always change the rings!

True, true. I think Ol' Geezer is on to something with the Casino. If I squint and look at pictures of my guitar, I can envision white being the way to go, even with the black rings.
I did notice some new guitar pictures with rings different colors than the pickguard.
Not a major issue either way, just curious what the stock setup was on this guitar for future reference.
Thanks all, Dan

I actually prefer to not have a pickguard altogether. My second choice would be to get a clear one if available (my trans black Studio Standard came that way).

My thoughts as well. Actually, I would not have known it didn't originally have a pick guard if the seller had not tell me. Of course the holes would be a giveaway.
