I've been thinking of a build project. I like telecasters and have been scouting about for parts for said project when I came across this. ......and the ebay impulse viruse struck me. cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7335802729&rd=1&sspagename=STRKIts solid one piece mahogany, precut and routed with a belly cut and forearm cut. what it doesn't have is the holes drilled. now the ones for the neck and for the strings through the bridge don't worry me that bad. but how do you get a drill bit in there to drill for the pickup wires to go through. normally....i'm not allowed around power tools too much. My ex use to send me away whenever there was a house project....i would usually end up destroying material....good intentions...just inept with power tools. The body and the grain of the thing just looked too good to pass. and I got it for a good price to boot. Already know what kind of neck and pickups and controls i'll add. Are there special drilling tools for the pickup wires to go through ? In the end, I know this is gonna cost about as much as an american tele....but it will be different.

Hey very cool score there, nice hunk of wood! Drilling the remaining holes isn't that big a deal, just get hold of a long bit, sometimes called a gun drill, I can get you the exact size we use tommorrow. Then just drill through the back of the neck pocket towards the pickup routes, stopping, of course, once you break through the bridge pickup route. Then it's just a matter of angling from the bridge pocket to the control cavity with the same drill, just lifted slightly off the body at a downward angle and run you a hole through that way. Presto you are done! Let the fun begin.
