Greetings
My 2002 Epi Les Paul custom has developed a bit of a problem - the neck pickup is not producing any sound. It doesn't matter what volume level either of the volume pots are set to - no sound comes from the neck picup - I get sound in the middle and bridge poistions on the switch, but that's all.
Strangely, if I violently turn the neck pickup's volume pot (in either driection) I get a short burst of signal (about 1/10 of a second).
Does this make sense to anyone out there? Up to now this has been my perfect guitar!!!

Replace the toggle switch and the volume pot. Either one or the other is bad.

Before you replace the volume pot check the solder connections on the contacts of it. I once had the same problem on my Epi Les Paul (the one pictured on the left under my username.) I resoldered the pickup wires and the problem went away. Sometimes the solder joint goes bad and doesn't let the signal pass through. At least try it before you replace it, it might save you a few bucks.

Thanks ExCaptain.
I checked the solder connections tonight, and one was definitely bad. 10 minutes work with the sodlering iron, and it all works fine again. Your advice has saved me a few bob - thanks again!
