Just curious .. .. P.S. 0.047 is more or less the same as 0.05 and 0.02 counts as 0.022. THANKS!

Most of my guitars have .022 caps. Although I have been experimenting with .015 and .033.

If you are looking for a deeper beefy tone just stay with the .047's. Those are usually reserved for Bass guitars. The .022's will give you less lows and more highs.

thnx Feathers i appreciate it. i play a lot of newer music from system, 36 crazyfists, and zakk wylde's BLS and the lowest clearest chunk i can get out of my guitar is what im looking for. if there are any other nu-metal heads out there hit me up with new bands or ideas in the other forums. and again big thanks toFeathers for the tip.
thnx

I picked up a couple pairs of Orange Drops locally the other day for the same price I paid for Radio Shack caps a couple weeks ago. I got a pair of 15's and a pair of 22's. I put the 15's in my LP first just as an expirement. My ears aren't the greatest, but it seems like the 22's have a bit more bite to them....the 15's a bit mellower. I kind of like how they sound with the neck pu and with both on......but my treble pu lost some of it's oomph. I'll probably put a 22 back on my treble pot tonight..see how it sounds with the 15 on the neck pot.

Took the 15's out and put the Orange Drop 22's in.......Wow! A $3 pair of caps turned my relatively mild mannered LP into a beast! The mids have a lot more punch now compared to the 15's......and all frequencies have a growl that they just didn't have with the stock disk 22's..or the Radio Shack poly films which were an improvement themselves over the stock disks.

What's the difference bwtween the orange drop(ceramic disc) cap and vintage bumblebee cap which cost a lot more money?
I plan to drop in 2 .022uf cap instead of stock .047 in my les paul, any recommendation? My pickups are 89 les paul custom covered humbuckers with black circuit board under the pickup.

Orange Drops and Ceramic Disks are not the same thing. Look up Sprague Orange Drops on the net and you will see. If you are really anal about tone and have a vintage guitar would be the only reason to go with Bumblebee caps, other wise just go with Sprague Orange Drops.

Man, you're replying so fast!! SO which one should I buy and where can I get it on-line? My pickups are humbuckers with 500k pots. Do these caps alter the sound even when the pots are on 10? I found a lot of orange drop on www.angela.com/which one suits best?
