We are looking for a wireless microphone system for our singer. I considered to stay away from cheap or priceworthy ones and suggested to buy a 2nd hand professional system. In any case it has to be a DIVERSITY system and the microphone itself should be rugged, because our singer is a bit clumsy and sometimes drops things! ;D Any suggestions, pals? I asked on a german forum and there were two suggestions. The Sennheiser EW series, and of course Shure. Any experienced guys here? Steele.

The Sennheiser ew 300 g2 is a great system. The g1 is ok but the g2 is better. Shure is always a good way to go but I think the ew g2 is a bit more rugged. We just bought 2 here at work and other than stupid clients pushing in the on off button with a ball point pen and messing it up, I have no compliants. Plus Sennheiser fixed it for free.

We haven´t bought any... up to now, our singer needs to save money first, but we made a decision... in any case it will be a Sennheiser EW series.

Good call. While you are at it, check out the ew series 2. I have had one occasion while using the ew s1 where, while the mic was off a very serious noise was shot through the PA. All I had to do to correct it was keep the mic on and just use the mute function on the mic itself or mute the channel. It only happened once, it was not house or my gear and I could not reproduce the phenomena later. But it was quite strange for a second or two.
