We have a small system we use for parties and small gigs, mainly for vocals, monitors and a drum mic or two. Don't get me wrong this won't work for a big room but for parties and such it don't suck. We use a Beringer MX 1804 board and 4 powered Mackies. It's just enough to get by. Does anyone else have a little system like this that they use? And if so how do you find it works best? We run 3 to 4 vocal mics SM 58s and a RE 20 for kick drum, a SM 57 or 3 for toms and a SM 87 or 2 for overhead drum mics and a SM 81 don't suck for a hi hat mic. If we have more to play with we mic the guitar amps with 57s and run the bass direct out of the bass amp. Same thing as above on vocals and same on drums except every drum has a mic.
