Using a basic full P.A. ( full range cabs and subs ) What do you find to be the best way of asigning your channels to your group outputs? Please list which group goes where.

It really depends on how many group outputs you have... When I operated this rather "big" PA system for my pals I used to have the drums on one stereo group, the lead vocals with all it´s effects on another one, another group was reserved for the percussionist with all his assorted gadgets. The keyboard player had his own mixing console and offered a stereo signal only, but I put this one also on a stereo group at the main mixing console because we also microphoned a Leslie cabinet he had for the FOH sound.

Thats the way I usualy do it too. Drums on a group, vocals on a group, guitars and bass on a group and what ever else you have left on a group. If there is nothing else or I have more than 4 groups I usualy put bass on its own group and sometimes if there are 2 guitars I may run them sterio. It depends on the PA, the room and the band.
