While clearing out some space in the basement and making my own little studio area, I knocked over the stand holding my Washburn D46S and down it went. Face first, but at least nice and flat with nothing to bang into on the way down. The result, I nice size piece chipped off the headstock just forward of the nut and what looks like about an inch long crack right where the fingerboard is glued onto the neck / binding, just south of the nut on both sides of the neck.
After a quick re-tune it seems to be playing fine, holding tune and intonation doesn't seem to have been affected. Still, this is a major bummer since I was planning on hawking this guitar on eBay but now I guess it's mine to keep. One positive in this is that I can now take the guitar places without stressing out over keeping it pristine. This is now my traveling guitar.
Thank GOD it wasn't the ES-125 Gibby which was on its stand about two feet away from the Washburn. If that went over, I'd still be crying!

I hate when that happens. It makes good times go bad in an instant. I was at my brothers wedding a few months back and we had an after wedding party/jam. To keep it short, lots of gear in a garage with little room for mistake without serious dings to nice guitars happening. Ever been there? Ok so my dad has his 24 year old 61 RI AM Strat sitting on a cheap three position stand, and I just know one little tap puts the old man's strat into the drum kit and on to the garage floor shortly after. So I set my Epi LP Special II on one of the other positions as ballast. (yea I know,,,, what a good son) So right as dad is getting up to sit in with us, I pop a string on Ol'Blue, (see avatar) set her down on my nice $30.00 single stand and grab up Red, my Special II. My strap catches and yanks the stand, and there goes the Strat. Time stood still. I discovered cat like reflexes. Caught her a split second before the point of no return (drum kit then floor) and slip dad a glance out of the corner of my eye. Several looks crossed his face in another split second, and then I hear "nice catch", from my dad in a tone that there just are not words to describe. That was almost just one of those things you can never live down. Ya know?
