I'm trying to buy a new Masterbilt Epiphone DR-500M acoustic guitar. I can only find one retail web site that offers this guitar, and it sells for $499.00. by them there. I don't want to purchase this guitar from them, because of a past bad experience of buying an Epiphone acoustic from them. Does anyone here, including a moderator, know where I can get one, and at or near this price of $499.00. I'd be glad to wait for this guitar, if they have to order it out from Epiphone. The DR-500M has a solid mahogany body and a solid sitka spruce top. Thanks for any advice.

Any Authorized Gibson/Epiphone Dealer should be able to order it for you.

yeah, hard to find online - I only saw that particular model on Elderly Instruments.
The best way to go would be to go to your local dealer like CAFeathers said and ask them about it and see if they can order it for you.

Thats probably the best sounding model of the Masterbilt line. I prefer the Rosewood side model but both are excellent.

Elderly doesn't have the DR-500R right now, and not sure when they will have one. They had their very first one about last April or May. It was on display in their shop and had been played on by customers, and probably shop workers too trying it out. It was really a new "used" guitar by then. Not very apealing to a new buyer. Elderly had adjusted the truss rod on it and the neck had settled too low, with a lot of string rattle all the way up and down the fret board. They have a new DR-500M advertised on their web sight now. But I understand it also is being played on, and not really fresh out of the box. They have adjusted the truss rod on this one too. They should leave the truss rods alone, and let a customer decide if they want that done to the guiter. Eldery says they will only sell a new guitar by this set up method. But this set up is only lowering the neck with the truss rod, not working on the nut and saddle. So it's not really a true set up they are doing. Local dealers in my area say they can't get these DR's either. www.music123.com says they can order an AJ-500R but it will take time to get one, and a first come first serve basis. I'll wait a few months and see who else will have the DR-500M in stock.
