I recently switched most of my electric guitars over to Dean MArkley Flat-Wound strings and have really grown to love the feel and the sound of the Flat-Wounds. So being the experimental type person I am I decided to put a set on my #1 Acoustic/Electric guitar. A set of Dean Markley Flat-Wound 11's went on my Agile HRB-200, what a difference!!!!! The tonal improvement is fantastic, more of a deep bassy but mellow tone. I sat down and played the Agile then quickly switched to my Ovation with acoustic strings on it, no contest the Agile won hands down. With the Flat-Wounds there is none of that string squeal that you get sliding up the neck on some acoustic songs.
I recommend everyone try a set of Flat-Wounds on their acoustic.

Hi -
I, too, recently put flat-wounds steel strings on my acoustic, Epiphone DR-500M, and have had an absolutely great experience. I hear that old "Beatle-acoustic" sound, which I personally enjoy - you know it when you hear it. And, I find the guitar easier to play,as did CAFeathers. I'm using D'Addario Chromes, but will change to plain flat-wound nickel strings as the chromes are a bit mellow for me.
Regards,
