I was looking at some Tabs for a few new songs that I want to learn, and they have notes in brackets (7)on the low E string for example. I have a book that says this is a grace note , or a ghost note . Could someone explain what this means and how you would play it?? All help greatly appreciated.

Wishi I could help ya. I'm more than a little embarassed to say I don't know how to read TAB. I'm working my way back to being able to read standard notation after almost 20 years of being away from playing.
I'm sure someone here will be able to help.

Grace notes are usually shown at the end of a bend, slide, trill, vibrato, or some other effect, and can be picked or not, it`s up to the player. Hope that helps.

Thanks for the help. I guess the best thing to do would be to try the song with and without the grace notes and stick with the version that sounds the best to me. It sure is great to have so many people on this forum that are willing to share their knowlege.(without the "attitude" found on that other Epi. forum I used to go to)
