I think it sure is dead lately because everybody is busy with christmas preparations... Or maybe we ran out of topics? But still I think this forum is doing very good, maybe we need some new members... I should spam the official board maybe and attract some people. On the other hand I like this site here so much because I feel we are real "Epifriends", and everybody behaves, I´ve never experienced things that are common over at the Epiphone forum, insulting. flaming, heckling, etc. That´s why I like this forum!

Steel is probly right. But it has been a bit slow. As far as practice. I play at least once a day if I can, and practice with the band every time I can get one or more to show up.

im not slaming the forum. i thinkits great. i dont go to any other forums. i dont stray far from home. i like the people here, and im sorry if ive offended any of yall, but im very straight forward. tell it like it is. maybe it is christmas, but i dont think so. i think it is just lack interest. we talk about the same ol same ol. but thats what attracts me and some of the others that frequent here. i think these things come in waves. it will pick back up, but its up to us diehards to keep it going. i just like to bring interest into old stuff. why not? its still news.

Maybe we need another cardboard scandal? LOL. But yes, you are probably right. We talked about lots of stuff here and there are not so many new questions about guitars. But I have to agree, I like this forum by far better than I like any other forums, I hardly never visit any other, except for a german one. But this german forum is more a gallery than a forum. If you wanna take a look, it is www.guitarmaniacs.de BAck to the original topic, I think i said it before, when it comes to practising I try to pick up a guitar at least twice a day. I prefer playing with musicians and like this much better than sitting over tabs, etc. Music means interaction with other players, you need to use then what you practised before.

I play at intervals during the week, unless ther's a song I haven't heard in a while that strikes that chord in me then I'll sit and play till I get it down, the best way for me is to just sit back and see what happens, funny how hitting an abstract note will bring a tune to mind - Jim

well, i think the most important thing is that you just play. of course pushing your limits probably improves your skills faster, but you do learn from just playing the same old stuff again, too. technically as well as jsut musically, there's a lot to learn about music just by playing anything.
so it's important to just play. it's better to play anything and do that a lot than to push yourself with some real practicing stuff and dont have fun with it and therefore dont play much. at least that's what i think. in the end it's not just about playing guitar (and do it absolutely correctly, technically), but more about making music.
i used to play about 3 hours a day or so for two years or so, but in the last few months I have less time (school's over, work begins....), but i still play every day. of course i never (or hardly ever) actually practiced 3 hours or more, i just picked up the damn thing and played, when i felt like it.

Hmm, I do what I would call practice maybe half an hour to an hour a day, but I play 7-8 hours a day.. pretty much all of the time I'm not at school (which is ~3 hrs a day ), or studying at home(too little) I see progress from every day, its fun
