I need some help with some song recommendations for my students. I'm trying to use their favorite groups, unfortunately they are groups I do not listen to.
The groups are:
Linkin Park Blink 182 Hoobastank Nirvana Incubus Good Charlotte Avril Lavigne Guns-N-Roses (never been a fan of Axel and company)
I need EASY, EASY, EASY songs with a bare minimum of chords as one of my students does have a learning disability.

Hey CA.... Try www.power-tab.net/a nice little piece of software(free) and then you can browse for the groups you are looking for....The software will also play the tabs after download to give you an idea of how the songs go and you can judge if they are easy enough...I don't listen to all of the groups you listed but here is a start.. Blink 182--Adams Song Avril Lavign--Complicated Hoobstank--The Reason,Crawling in the Dark GnR--Live and Let Die Hope this helps

Thanks, I have that program already on my computer along with another, and have quite a few links to tab sites. I was trying to save myself some time and get some opinions from my forum brethren.

I don't think that I'll be much help here (not too familiar with some of these artists myself), but Nirvana's "Come as you Are" has a really simple groove and chord stucture.

Hey Chet...most of the songs by Good Charlotte are very easy, basic songs...I have seen some of their stuff tabbed out in either GuitarOne or Guitar World...maybe some of your students get these mags. Anyway, their songs don't seem to be beyond the beginner stage by too much. Good luck.

yea anything by these punk bands are really simple. The only difficult thing is sometimes the speed for a begginer but its still simple...a few quick ones,
adams song - blink 182 dammit - blink 182 polly - nirvana smells like teen spirit - Nirvana
All really simple and fun for begginers ;D Good luck!

I learned a lot form playing GNR stuff when I was just starting out:
Knockin' on heavens door - makes G, D, C and Am fun!
Don't cry - the song that got me playing guitar and singing in a band! Good, simple song with F in the chorus. Good way to learn picking and chord changes too.
Patience - learned my first solo and also variations of D
November Rain - Used to be my favorite song. I also learned C#m for this one and a bunch of barre chords
That's it for now! Hope it helps.
