hi you guys! I'm thinking of buying a new guitar.at the moment I have a stagg les paul copy. but I want to buy an epiphone les paul now.
what is the difference in sound between an epi les paul black beauty(3 humbuckers) and an epi les paul custom (2 humbuckers)?
and is there a difference between the sound of the custom and the cheaper standard or standard plus?
any reactions much appreciated
greetz, Mr Brown

Welcome to our forum Mr.Brown. The three pickups of the black beauty should give you more possible sound variations. In my opinion there should not be a sound difference between an Epi LP Custom and an LP Standard. The only difference should be cosmetics. But talking about the Black Beauty... I suggest to try one and not order one online... the middle pickup might cause some problems depending on your personal picking technique. For example I absolutely hate those Ibanez RG series guitars with the H-S-H pickups. The middle pickup is in the way and at least personally I don´t like it. Never played a Black Beauty or an Ace Frehley model, but I don´t think such a guitar would suit me. By the way: Hope you like the forum and enjoy it.

thx man.I'll try and get a hold of one somewhere soon see if it suits me.if the third pickup doesn't bother me while playing,I'm probably gonna order it online.that's a lot cheaper than where I bought my stagg lp.which I'm gonna keep.always nice when you still have your first guitar after some years.I'm a nostalgic person you know anyway, thx for the advice greetz, and rock on!

I have two Staggs also... I think they are pretty good guitars for that price.

Don't forget to check out the LP Classics. I have a trans blue quilt top that I am in love with. I really like the Vintage Sunburst QuiltTop I have, too, but the Classics seem to have recently increased in price and may now be coming with pickguards (covering some of that beautiful finish).
