well, risking an educated guess, i'd say that the roman year started in march....
also september means the seventh month, november means the ninth month, december means the tenth month.
in fact august is named after caesar's adopted son octavianus, who later called himself augustus, when he became emperor. still, there is one month named after caesar himself, which is July because of his family name julius (or iulius). his actual name was gaius iulius and the caesar was a just a name give to him. from caesar the german word "kaiser" as well the word "zar" (english: tsar) developed, which of course basically mean emperor.
alright, enough of playing the know-it-all.... ;D
and by the way, no, i have never been to the oktoberfest, since I don't drink beer, in fact I hardly drink any alcohol at all. So I guess for me there really is no point in going there, is there? ;D

...I was thinking about this on my way home from work...and I came up with just about the same answer...............
...it's the Italians' fault......Julius and Octavius/Augustus......if you eliminate the two inserted months of July and August...they crowned themselves emporer/ceasar and considered themselves gods.........
...when you do this...the names line-up again.....
...Mayo.....5th month......
...Juno......6th month......
...Septo....7th month......
...Octo......8th month......
...Joman....you need to go to Oktoberfest...take your guitar and your amp...just remember....the more they drink...the better you're gonna sound............. ;D

Dear pals, I´m going thru the most bitter experiences in my life... that´s the reason why I don´t show up very often recently. This also the reason why the mainsite www.epifriends.net wasn´t updated for so long. Please do not send in pictures or something else at the moment... I´ll pop in from time to time and take a short glimpse, ... enjoy this place... this is a great forum with great members! I´ll be back sometime. If not, someone here knows the admin login and he shall take care of this place... Steele.
