Well, I bought a new Epi today. I decided I wanted to try a Dick Dale experiment. I bought a left-handed Special II and I'm going to change the nut and string it upside down.

Very cool, but you may want to rewire the pots so they taper as a right hand would. The way the lefties are wired you don't get much taper, its really an on/off type of taper. Just FYI.

I'm left-handed and the guitar would be in the proper position, just the strings and nut would be upside down.
But Thanks for the info.

When I first picked up a guitar I learned to play with the guitar flipped over and the strings left alone, so it would be just going back to my roots so to speak.

Hi Chet
Good luck with the latest project, I reckon you would need the patience of a saint to see this one through.
I have a good friend who is a leftie, I've tried his bass a few times and after 15 minutes or so can get some decent patterns out of it.
Everything I read seems to indicate it is purely an exercise in mind control for me to be able to play left handed !!!.......... reserve judgement on that
Good luck with it and let us know how it goes.
